Manufacturing Engineer (Robotics)

Description

This is a direct position with a leading medical device manufacturer.

Our client is seeking to automate part handling on their production floor and is seeking an engineer with a strong background in robotics. This is a hands-on position and the ideal candidate will be familiar with the entire process of automation from design and vendor selection through implementation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works independently or as part of a team to design, develop, fabricate and implement automated manufacturing systems.
Coordinates fabrication activities with suppliers.
Organizes and coordinates the planning and activities required.
Provides aggressive leadership to achieve the automation goals of the company.
Design, develop, fabricate and implement automated manufacturing systems.
Coordinate fabrication activities pertaining to automation details with outside suppliers.
Identify and institute state of the art manufacturing technologies.
Provide leadership, organization, coordination and planning to the automation endeavors throughout the plant.
Institute continuous process automation improvements to existing operations.
Performs special projects or other duties as assigned.
Diligently participate in our compliance program-related activities as denoted by supervisor or Chief Compliance Officer.

Requirements

BS Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology or a minimum of 6-8 years experience designing, developing and implementing automated manufacturing systems with 5 years experience in a computer controlled (i.e.: CNC or PLC) machining environment.

Must have strong background with Robotics
Experience with Pro-E preferred

Robotics Design Engineer

This $50M Robotic Inspection company has been in business for over 40 years, and they are the world leader in CCTV small space profiling, underground inspection, and asset management for close-quarters environments.

This opportunity is for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who is proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation software and can hit the ground running designing sheet metal, die cast, and plastic injection molded parts. Experience designing moving parts involved in machine design and/or robotics is a must.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent work experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroStation design software
Experience (at least 6 years) with design and assembly of complex parts for hydraulics-based machines or robotic systems
Experience with Design For Manufacturability ( DFM ) and Design For Assembly ( DFA ) concepts
Experience with Finite Element Analysis ( FEA )

HTS Robotics Engineer I

The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) is currently seeking a HighThroughput Screening (HTS) Robotics Engineer I for its Floridafacility. The chosen candidate will be responsible for a fullyautomated high-throughput compound management platform and/or an HTSplatform that runs various biochemical and cell-based assay protocols.Will operate robotic platform(s) & ancillary laboratory automationto reformat compounds and/or execute HTS assays in 96-, 384-, and/or1536-well format plates. Will also work with scientific, informationtechnology and engineering support personnel to successfully develop& execute HTS and/or compound management; operate vendor softwarethat interfaces with automated equipment or process large amounts ofHTS-related and/or chemical inventory related information and maintainthe various types of robotic automation and instrumentation found inthe lab.

Requirements
Requires: Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical sciences and 0-1 yearsrelated experience in an engineering, analytical or HTS laboratory isrequired, as well as demonstrated technical proficiency performingcomplicated lab techniques including equipment operation andmaintenance, liquid handling and automation.

Must also havedemonstrated proficiency with MS office, particularly Excel &Access. Excellent communication and interpersonal and team skills isrequired, as well as attention to detail, strong mathematical &mechanical experience.

Experience with SQL, VB, C++, Java, HTML and/or Oracle db experience preferred. Practical understanding of physical chemistry, chemical engineering,mechanical engineering, biochemistry, and/or cell biology is preferred.Florida & Palm Beach County residents are preferred.
