Administrators, Educators, and Concerned Parents:
Bring excitement and interest to your mathematics and science curriculums
through robotics. Come to the first Annual New England Robotics Conference on
October 25, 2008 at
Bridgewater-Raynham
Regional
High
School in
Bridgewater, Ma. This
one-day program is open to all administrators, educators, and parents interested
in bringing or expanding robotics programs in grades K-12.
This program will feature methodologies you can use for obtaining funding,
installing curriculum enhancements, reducing the costs of purchasing supplies,
implementing programs for after-school robotics activities designed to benefit
our children. Participants will gain hands-on experience with Lego Mindstorms
NXT.
A luncheon panel discussion will be held with presenters of varying
backgrounds and experiences in robotics. Speakers will include college robotics
professors, high school teachers, experienced fundraisers, students, parents,
and surprise industry experts. There will be on-going demonstrations by
students using several different robotics programs and concepts, creating
tie-die tee shirts, and tours of a school’s robotics room.
Professional Development Points from
Tufts
University will be
available as well as a catered lunch. All participants will receive an
education package worth more than $100.
