HTS Robotics Engineer I

Description
The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) is currently seeking a HighThroughput Screening (HTS) Robotics Engineer I for its Floridafacility.  The chosen candidate will be responsible for a fullyautomated high-throughput compound management platform and/or an HTSplatform that runs various biochemical and cell-based assay protocols.Will operate robotic platform(s) & ancillary laboratory automationto reformat compounds and/or execute HTS assays in 96-, 384-, and/or1536-well format plates. Will also work with scientific, informationtechnology and engineering support personnel to successfully develop& execute HTS and/or compound management; operate vendor softwarethat interfaces with automated equipment or process large amounts ofHTS-related and/or chemical inventory related information and maintainthe various types of robotic automation and instrumentation found inthe lab.

Requirements
Requires: Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical sciences and 0-1 yearsrelated experience in an engineering, analytical or HTS laboratory isrequired, as well as demonstrated technical proficiency performingcomplicated lab techniques including equipment operation andmaintenance, liquid handling and automation. 

Must also havedemonstrated proficiency with MS office, particularly Excel &Access.  Excellent communication and interpersonal and team skills isrequired, as well as attention to detail, strong mathematical &mechanical experience. 

Experience with SQL, VB, C++, Java, HTML and/or Oracle db experience preferred.   Practical understanding of physical chemistry, chemical engineering,mechanical engineering, biochemistry, and/or cell biology is preferred.Florida & Palm Beach County residents are preferred.
